To my delight, I attended WordCamp Pittsburgh (the first ever!) on September 17, 2016.
First, let me say that Melinda Helt’s organizing skills are phenomenal. I organize the Bayer Center’s annual TechNow conference and I know how much work is involved to make that kind of event happen. What she pulled off starting from zero is amazing. She put together a fantastic organizing team, found lots of sponsors, speakers and a ton of volunteers, a great venue and made it all come together. Kudos to the other four organizers involved, definitely, but I highlight Melinda because I recall her attending Bagels & Bytes in early spring 2016 and stating that she intended to make a WordCamp happen in Pittsburgh. She surely did, to the benefit of all us WordPressers in the region!
For the first few breakout sessions I attended, I furiously scribbled notes hoping to make a blog post out of them. When I learned the sessions were being recorded on video, I stopped writing and just absorbed the content instead.
The videos are available on WordPress.tv. I am embedding a few of my favorite sessions below:
I’m looking forward to WordCamp Pittsburgh 2017!
