Cindy Leonard, CEO & Principal Consultant
Cindy Leonard has dedicated more than two decades to strengthening the nonprofit sector through strategic planning, technology leadership, and communications work. Before founding Cindy Leonard Consulting LLC, Cindy spent nearly 13 years at the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management at Robert Morris University, leading the consulting and technology programs and becoming a trusted resource across the Pittsburgh region.
Cindy brings a rare combination of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and real-world nonprofit experience. Past roles include executive director, IT director, marketing leader, and board member – along with extensive work as a consultant, facilitator, and trainer. Cindy is known for helping mission-driven organizations cut through complexity and make practical, effective decisions.
A proud three-time graduate of Seton Hill University, Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Education in Instructional Design.
As a speaker and trainer, Cindy has led more than 100 workshops and conference sessions for organizations such as Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations, Nonprofit Technology Network, Nonprofits LEAD, Alliance for Nonprofit Management, Association of Fundraising Professionals Western Pennsylvania Chapter, Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Partnership Summit, Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management, Westmoreland Diversity Coalition, and Pennsylvania Library Association.
A lifelong resident of Westmoreland County, Cindy lives in Youngwood, Pennsylvania with a husband, a collection of overly indulged cats, two large dogs, and an enduring love for the Laurel Highlands. Cindy is also a voracious reader, a diehard Toronto Blue Jays fan, and a longtime follower of the Canadian prog rock band Rush – with a growing collection of memorabilia to prove it.
