Cindy Leonard has cultivated an extensive career spanning more than two decades, devoted to the service of and collaboration with nonprofit organizations. Cindy’s extensive professional journey encompasses multifaceted roles, including board and committee memberships, volunteer engagements, and consulting services. Cindy has excelled as an executive director, program manager, and IT director, as well as a consultant, trainer, coach, and facilitator within the nonprofit sector. Prior experience includes a decade of management roles in both small businesses and large corporations.
Cindy’s consulting expertise is informed by a diverse knowledge base, cultivated through more than three decades of practical experience and formal education. Cindy possesses the unique ability to seamlessly navigate between macroscopic strategic perspectives and intricate details, making them an adaptable and invaluable resource.
As a seasoned speaker and trainer, Cindy has honed their skills with a highly engaging and interactive approach. Cindy has effectively facilitated diverse groups ranging from small, intimate gatherings of ten individuals to larger audiences of up to 200, covering a wide array of topics. Cindy’s impressive portfolio includes over 100 appearances as a speaker at conferences and educational events hosted by esteemed organizations such as Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations, Nonprofit Technology Network, Nonprofits LEAD, Alliance for Nonprofit Management, Association of Fundraising Professionals of Western Pennsylvania, Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Partnership Summit, and Pennsylvania Library Association.
Cindy holds a distinguished academic background, with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Education in Instructional Design, all conferred by Seton Hill University. Additionally, Cindy completed two years of coursework leading to a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity at Robert Morris University.
Born and raised in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, Cindy’s deep-rooted affection for the Laurel Highlands has been a lifelong passion. Currently, home is Youngwood, situated 35 miles east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with husband, Rob, along with a collection of indulged felines and two sizeable canine companions.
