I am so honored to have been recently added as a featured woman in tech on The Ella Project’s website!
The Ella Project was created “to ensure that girls have a hero to which they can identify, a hero with a background and passion for science, technology, engineering, math, and entrepreneurship.”
On the home page, you can find the stories of remarkable women who have shared their stories: what inspires them, how they’ve achieved success, and some advice for future leaders.
The name Ella comes from the protagonist in a digital comic book series featured on the site: Ella the Engineer. Ella has a knack for computers and all things digital.
In the comic books, she is shown troubleshooting various computer issues and fighting “The Glitch,” the evil villain of the series who is constantly trying to mess up Ella’s computers and devices. Ella saves the day through coding and computer knowledge. Through reading the comics, girls have a role model with whom they can identify and they learn some essential technology terminology in a fun way.
